Turn expert content into an interaction people can use.
The strongest educational content does more than explain. It helps the reader make a decision, inspect a system or take a next step while the problem is still in front of them.
Find the repeated decision.
Start with a question your audience asks repeatedly: “Is this dashboard ready for leadership?” or “Which conversion event should be primary?” The interaction should reduce the effort needed to reach a useful answer, not decorate an article.
Turn expertise into inputs and outcomes.
A simple tool can ask three to five questions, show the trade-off and point to the next action. A tracking readiness checklist, creative-test planner or dashboard QA scorecard is often more useful than a complex calculator with invented precision.
Measure usefulness, not only clicks.
Track completion, saved output, follow-up action and qualitative feedback. If users abandon at the first question, reduce the cognitive load. If they complete but do nothing next, the recommendation is probably too generic.
Design checklist
- One recurring decision.
- Few meaningful inputs.
- An outcome users can act on.
- Accessible keyboard and mobile interaction.
- A feedback loop for improvement.
Why this is current
OpenAI’s October 2026 introduction of Intelligent UI reflects a wider product pattern: answers can combine text with interactive elements. Content creators should use that capability to create utility, not novelty.
